Your Voice Drives Our Mission!

Engaging Our Community

We believe in building a stronger community through open dialogue, transparency, and collaboration. In April 2025, we hosted a series of events to connect with you, share our vision, and listen to your priorities for the Deerfield HOA. Below, we recap our virtual meeting and in-person forums, where we outlined our 120-day plan and gathered valuable resident feedback.

Virtual Meeting: Reviewing Our 120-Day Plan

In a recent virtual meeting, our six candidates—Brent Ash, David W. Barnard, Steve Dehler, Michael S. Ramsey, Kimberly A. Satzger, and William F. Simons—came together to present our 120-day plan for the HOA. This actionable roadmap focuses on:

  • Financial Clarity: Delivering a transparent, resident-informed budget to address undisclosed HOA costs.

  • Community Empowerment: Giving residents a vote on repair and improvement projects.

  • Partnerships: Balancing developer investments with community needs for a fair, sustainable future.

  • Integrity: Upholding trust through conflict-of-interest disclosures and background screenings to secure HOA insurance.

The meeting, hosted online for accessibility, allowed us to share this vision and answer questions in real time, reinforcing our commitment to keeping you informed and involved.

In-Person Forums: April 19 & April 26

We held two community meetings to discuss the future of Deerfield. At both events, the candidates began by introducing themselves, sharing their backgrounds, experience, and motivations for running. These personal introductions set the tone for open and thoughtful dialogue. Both events hosted a broad spectrum of property owners, including long-time and new residents, fostering inclusive and diverse conversations.

On April 19, residents in attendance shared a wide range of comments and concerns, including calls for greater budget transparency, a focus on infrastructure, and long-term community planning.

We followed up with another in-person meeting on April 26, where we dove deeper into the feedback from the first forum. Residents emphasized the importance of clear financial planning, open communication, and collaborative decision-making. These forums reaffirmed our commitment to listening and representing all voices in Deerfield.

What We Learned

Deerfield Resort residents joined us at our April forums to share what matters most to them, voicing their passion for a stronger, more vibrant community:

  • Repairing road conditions

  • Extending city water to the resort

  • Upgrading storm drainage systems

  • Setting clear rules for golf carts and ATVs

  • Enhancing and updating common areas

  • Preserving the airport as a community asset

  • Securing entrance and dock areas with gates

  • Improving fire safety (e.g., hydrants, clearing deadfall)

  • Launching an HOA Facebook page with conduct guidelines

  • Increasing transparency around HOA fees and costs

  • Creating a budget and reserve fund to protect property values

Your call for greater engagement prompted us to schedule a virtual follow-up on Tuesday, May 7, during which we reviewed our 120-Day Plan in light of your concerns.
